Waste water
TWG’s activity does not generate a volume of contaminated water and,
furthermore, this water is not discharged into public waterways at any of our
plants, but is channelled either to the existing sewage network or to waste water
collection tanks for subsequent treatment at the waste water treatment plants in
each locality. In addition, in the case of the TWA plants in San Luis de Potosí and
San José de Chiapa, the water discharged is treated in the plants managed by the
industrial estates in which they are located, and is subsequently used to irrigate
parks and gardens
On the other hand, the effluents discharged by all TWG sites are linked to water
from sanitary use.
In this context, we do not currently carry out a measurement of the volume of
waste water discharged, so we do not have the possibility to report this data in
this report.
7.4.
Waste management 17
We have the relevant authorisations for waste management in accordance with
current legislation at all TWG work centres. In addition, we have procedures
associated with the Environmental Management System for their correct
management and segregation. In the same way, we take into account the
appropriate and responsible use of materials both for our products and for our
processes. We always work under the criteria of waste reduction, optimisation
of working times, reduction, as far as possible, of wastage and increase in
productivity.
Our figures show the approximate quantities of waste generated during 2022.
17 Hazardous waste includes: used oil, empty containers, maintenance solids, contaminated rags, infectious biological
waste (masks), and sharp objects such as cutters. Non-hazardous waste includes: wooden pallets, cardboard, low density
polyethylene, foam rubber, toners and scrap metal.
