Presentation of the book 𝘐𝘮𝘢́𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘢 𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘶𝑝𝘦 𝘦𝘯 𝘕𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢 – TW Group
On December 12, coinciding with the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the book 𝘐𝘮𝘢́𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘭𝘢 𝘝𝘪𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘦 𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘶𝑝𝘦 𝘦𝘯 𝘕𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢. 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘰́𝘯 𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘥𝘦 𝘔𝘦́𝘹𝘪𝘤𝘰, by Professor Ricardo Fernandez Gracia.
The work has been published by the University of Navarra, through the Chair of Heritage and Art of Navarra, and sponsored by FundaciónTW, as part of its commitment to research, culture, knowledge, and rigor.
The event was particularly symbolic as it was held on such a significant day. A tenor accompanied by an organist performed Las Mañanitas in honor of the Virgin, while at our plants in Puebla, San José Chiapa, and San Luis Potosí, the TW Group teams also celebrated this date, sharing the moment on both sides of the Atlantic.
The publication, the result of years of research, analyzes the presence, origin, and meaning of the images of Guadalupe preserved in Navarre, which arrived between the 17th and 18th centuries. The study highlights the role of the Creoles and Navarrese who settled in America, who promoted and sent these images as a way of keeping alive the link with their homeland, creating a historical and cultural heritage of great uniqueness.
The event took place before Juan Correa’s 17th-century painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which presided over the space. Participants at the table included Ricardo Fernández Gracia, director of the chair and author of the book; Rosalía Baena, vice-rector for Students and International Relations at the University of Navarra; and Carlos Llonis Irigoyen, president of TW Group and member of the board of trustees of the TW Foundation. During his speech, our president stated that “the Virgin of Guadalupe has always been present at TW Group’s headquarters in Mexico, connecting the company’s people and projects.”
