TW Foundation supports emerging talent at the University of Navarra
“(R)ojo por (R)ojo”: a washing machine, a family and a lesson in wit that conquers festivals.
At the TW Foundation, we believe in the power of stories that emerge from the everyday, reflecting the essence of our communities. So when we decided to support “(R)ojo por (R)ojo”, we saw an opportunity to support the emerging talent of the University of Navarra and a narrative that connects with the everyday.
This short film, directed by Lucía Aparici Azanza, co-written with Irene San Martín Mosquero, immerses us in the life of Caridad, a woman who wins a washing machine in her hairdresser’s raffle. Her daughter, Helena, perceives this “gadget” as an additional economic burden. However, together they discover an ingenious way to take advantage of it, unleashing envy in their environment and confronting Paloma’s attempts to sabotage her enterprise.
(R)ojo por (R)ojo” has been selected to be part of the catalog of short films of the second edition of ‘Navarra Shortzinema’, an initiative that seeks to give visibility and international projection to Navarre’s productions.
This initiative highlights the short film’s diversity of genres and themes, as well as the community participation and the feminine approach in the direction. The inclusion in this catalog has facilitated its presentation at festivals, fairs and important markets in the sector, expanding its scope and recognition.
The authenticity and freshness of this story have resonated in various festivals, obtaining awards such as:
- Best Short Film from Navarre at the Murchante International Film Festival.
- Best Fiction Short Film at the Torrevieja Audiovisual Festival.
- Audience Award and 2nd Best Fiction Short at the Socine Festival.
